Cliff Caskey Consulting

Agricultural & Horticultural consulting  by appointment.   Cliff retired from Texas Agricultural Extension Service in 1995 after twenty-nine years of service.   He then took the position of Horticulturist for the City of San Marcos where he supervised development, landscaping, and maintenance of city parks and facilities until his retirement from that position in 2003.  In early  2004, Cliff was hired by Hays County to supervise clean-up of the Blanco River from the debris left from the 2001 flood.   He has knowledge and experience in livestock and range management, commercial and home crop production, and commercial and home horticulture.  In the last twenty-eight years, he has been especially  active in prevention and treatment of oak wilt in the Central Texas area, and in evaluating stone fruit varieties suitable for Central Texas soil and climate conditions.  Since 1984, Cliff has developed and maintained Caskey Orchards where he grows peaches, nectarines, plums,  apricots, apples,  pears, figs, and pecans.   He is past-president of Texas Fruit Grower's Association where he continues to serve as a director, and has served as president of San Marcos/New Braunfels Farmer's Market Association since 1998. Cliff also now serves as horticulture consultant  and advisor to the three existing Texas State Veteran's Cemeteries and the remain four currently on the drawing board for future development.
